Prayer for Love, Wisdom, Faithfulness

Lord God, Heavenly Father,

You have said that I will not lack any spiritual gift as I wait eagerly for the coming of Christ Jesus, and that You will keep me strong in the faith until He returns.  (1 Cor 1: 7 – 9)

                Lord, You Who have called me, You are faithful.  Lord, hear my prayer.

By Your divine power You have given me everything needed for life and Godliness through Your calling in Christ Jesus.  (2 Peter 1: 3)

Lord, You Who have called me, You are faithful.  Lord, hear my prayer.

You did not spare Your own Son, but gave Him for my salvation; and in Him and through Him and for my eternal good, You will graciously give me all things. (Romans 8: 32)

                Lord, You Who have called me, You are faithful.  Lord, hear my prayer.

You are the God of Peace who initiated an eternal covenant with the world through the sacrificed blood and resurrection of Christ; You can be relied on to equip me with every good and needful thing, to work in me Your good and gracious will.  (Hebrews 13: 20 – 21)

                Lord, You Who have called me, You are faithful.  Lord, hear my prayer.

With Solomon, I pray for wisdom in all of the roles I have and in every situation in which I am placed.  For a discerning heart and mind to rule and to lead, this I pray. (1 Kings 3:9)

                Lord, You Who have called me, You are faithful.  Lord, hear my prayer.       

  

Unlike Solomon, I pray that I would remain faithful in all things; that I would reject all idols, all distractions, all false worship, all evil influence.  (1 Kings 11)

                Lord, You Who have called me, You are faithful.  Lord, hear my prayer.

You have called the one blessed who perseveres under trials and have promised a crown of Life to those who love You, those who are faithful even unto death. (James 1: 12; Revelation 2: 10)

Bless my desire and my efforts to add to my faith goodness; to goodness, knowledge; to knowledge, self-control; to self-control, perseverance; to perseverance, Godliness; to Godliness, brotherly kindness; to brotherly kindness, love.  (2 Peter 1: 5 – 8)

                Lord, You Who have called me, You are faithful.  Lord, hear my prayer.

Love is the fulfillment of the law, and love is the only debt remaining among Your people.  You have given us Your Word and Your commands to shape our love:  love that does not steal, does not harm, does not betray, does not covet; love that is faithful to spouse, love that is compassionate to children, love that supports the relationship of leader and follower, love that stewards all resources well.  Bless my life with love and with wisdom. (Romans 13: 8 – 14)

                Lord, You Who have called me, You are faithful.  Lord, hear my prayer.

Let love and faithfulness never leave me.  Let me not put my trust in myself or any other created thing, but only in You; let me reject my own wisdom but instead fear only You.  Give me Your wisdom, bless me to shun evil.  Bless my body with health and my life with success, but only to Your glory and in service to Your kingdom.  (Proverbs 3: 1 – 8)

                Lord, You Who have called me, You are faithful.  Lord, hear my prayer.

You are my Good Shepherd, I am Your sheep; let me ever know Your voice and follow You, that I will never be snatched from Your hand and that I, with all the saints, will receive eternal life.  Amen, Amen, Lord let it be so.  (John 10: 27 – 29)
