Litany of Forgiveness

Litany of Forgiveness

For the ability to forgive seven times seven;
                Lord, increase our faith!
For the desire to forgive seven times seven;
                Lord, increase our faith!

That we may forgive the debts, the trespasses, the sins and offenses of others;
                Lord, increase our faith!
That our prayers would never be hindered by sins we hold against others;
                Lord, increase our faith!
That our forgiveness from You would never be compromised by an unforgiving heart toward others;
                Lord, increase our faith!

For patience and forgiveness toward those who sin against us, even seventy times seven times;
                Lord, increase our faith!
For the humility to forgive, and to say only “We are unworthy servants, we have only done our duty”;
                Lord, increase our faith!
For faith like a mustard seed, for faith to whither fig and uproot mulberry trees, for faith to move mountains, for faith to forgive sins committed against us;
                Lord, increase our faith!
For compassion and mercy toward those who sin against us, even seventy times seven times;
                Lord, increase our faith!

To persevere in forgiveness,
                Lord, increase our faith!
To glorify Your name through longsuffering and forgiveness,
                Lord, increase our faith!
To honor Your sacrifice, to respond to Your forgiveness toward us by forgiving others,
                Lord, increase our faith!
